Road directions
From the M4, Junction 15: Take the A419 north, then the A420 east signposted Oxford. After passing under the railway arches turn right, then immediately right again signposted Bourton.
Parking
Several places along the lane to park, best on the south side of the bridge unless maintenance vans already there.
Public transport
Stagecoach bus from Swindon town centre, I would imagine around a 20 minute ride. Bus route goes over the bridge.
Amenities
Nothing at the location, but there is a large Sainsburys at the A419/A420 junction. Also a truckstop which serves excellent food.
Accommodation
There are probably some B&Bs in nearby Shrivenham, or loads of hotels in Swindon itself.
Line runs virtually east to west here, so should be good all day. Open area so no real shadows to worry about. Several shots available from either side of the bridge, or walk up and down the lane a bit to get a shot across the open fields. There will be some background noise from the busy A420.
