Road directions
The bridge is easily visible from the main road (A646).
Parking
Parking on the A646 is not advisable as it is busy and quite narrow. There is a side road, Jumble Hole Road, nearby on the Hebden Bridge side. This is a safe area to park, with a few houses and some industry.
Public transport
Frequent buses, about 6 an hour, between Halifax, Hebden Bridge, and Todmorden (590, 592) pass the site and stop nearby.
Amenities
No facilities in the immediate area. It is just over a mile to Hebden Bridge.
The location is good for photography in both directions. Early/mid morning looking west towards Todmorden, late morning/early afternoon looking east towards Hebden Bridge. Later in the afternoon, with the sun on the other side of the line, there is a good view eastwards from the lane on the far side of the bridge. The valley is quite deep and narrow and the available daylight is limited in winter. The footbridge was closed briefly in August 2015 but reopened when the bridge was resurfaced.
