Road directions
On A465 about half way between Hereford and Abergavenny. Southbound, turn into the lay by approx 1 mile north of Pontrilas. A good indicator is Burger Van, usually, in Northbound lay by about 300 yards before the one you want. Northbound, turn into lay by with the Burger Van and then turn back to the Southbound lay by.
Parking
In the lay by, then walk through open gate to crossing gates, about 30 yards.
Public transport
Not easy, Stagecoach operate a coach between Hereford and Abergavenny (X3) but there is no bus stop at the lay by. The nearest stop would be Pontrilas, about a mile walk. The train Station at Pontrilas isnow closed.
Amenities
There are no toilets in the immediate area. There is often a Burger Van in the opposite lay by with a Post Office and pubs in Pontrilas.

Hotels, B&B in Pandy which is about 6 Miles, Abergavenny 12 Miles, Hereford 15 Miles.
Line travels from North to South. The location is on West side of the line, so it should be good in either direction. Southbound trains are a bit tight for shooting because of foliage, but Northbound is an open shot. Noise from main road might be a problem for Videographers.
