Road directions
Coming from the northbound/southbound A36, drive until you reach the village of Codford, at the eastern end of this village there should be a turning to Sherrington and Stockton, take this road and keep right when the road forks. This is then the road which runs over the bridge.
Parking
There is space for around 5 cars near to the bridge, as it is located on a very quiet 'T' intersection with an even smaller country road.
Amenities
There is nothing in Sherrington, but there should be a village shop in nearby Codford, but otherwise you will need to go to either Warminster or Salisbury, there are many food outlets and supermarkets in the latter.
Railway Gen Group
Wiltshire and Avon Gen
Photographic notes
The line heads north west/south east here, so favours northward shots from 10:00 onwards. The shot looking eastward is not particularly open and bushes and trees obscure the view somewhat. The best angle is from the south end of the bridge, where this is a handy grass verge for you to stand on off the road, and a nice angle for trains heading east. The line is on an 'S' bend, allowing for nice angles. There is a crossing further up the line which gives you warning of approaching trains.
