The location is on the A646. It is between Cliviger and Portsmouth where the road crosses over the railway.
There is a lay-by almost opposite.
There are no amenities at the location but food outlets, toilets, etc. exist in Todmorden and Burnley, both of which are about 10 minutes drive away, and Hebden Bridge which is about 20 minutes drive away.
There are hotels, etc., in the Todmorden/Hebden Bridge area.
Depending on the time of day and extent of sunlight photography can be from the footpath on the bridge or the road approach on the Todmorden side. It is not recommended to photograph trains approaching from Burnley because of a lack of footpath on that side of the road.
There may be sunlight problems in the morning due to the location facing East.
