From the M11, junction 10. Head east off the roundabout, away from the Imperial War Museum hangers, crossing straight over the mini roundabout. When you see the large Volvo factory on your right there is a right turn. This is the turn you need but you will have to continue on to Whittlesford and do a u turn at the roundabout to access this. Follow this road through the village of Duxford and take the signs to Hinxton. You will cross over the, now disused, track to the industrial area. Shortly after this is the crossing.
Parking is ok. There are no designated place to park but there is a few cleared patches where others have parked.
There are toilets and somewhere to eat at McDonalds at Whittlesford Service Station. Next to the McDonalds there is a big petrol garage with a coffee shop.
The
Duxford Lodge Hotel is close by and offers nice food and wi fi.
North facing shots from the crossing are hindered by the trees. But if you walk down the field edges more options open up.
