Road directions
From the M25, Junction 2:
Follow the A2 road into London towards Dartford for about 3.5 miles. Keep in the left hand lane, for local traffic. You will pass over the bridge then in under .25miles you go under a road bridge. Keep left all the way over the bridge and at the next roundabout take the second exit and continue up Gravel Hill. Take the first left onto Gravel Hill Road and park up here.
Walk back to the road bridge and continue under and then use the bridge to cross the A2. On the other side take the steps down and walk to the location.
It is not possible to safely cross the road, but you can use the footpaths at the bridge to go under the road to reach the other side.
Parking
You can not park directly at the location as it is the A2 road. But there is residential parking on Gravel Hill Close which is 5-10 minutes walk away.
Public transport
From Bexley Railway station it is a 15 minute walk to the location.
Amenities
There is nothing at the location. The closest amenities are in Bexley town.
Accommodation
There is a Holiday Inn at the road junction just to the west of the location.

Photographic notes
The favoured shot at this location is of westbound trains, heading in the Dartford direction. This view will include the spire of St John parish church in the background. The best time of day for this angle roughly is from around 08:00 to 11:00 depending on the time of year. There are other options from the footpath, or the fields which are accessible through the broken fences, for westbound trains. These are from the north of the line.
There is also a view of trains headed in the Bexley direction from the other side of the bridge. To access this you will need to walk under the bridge, using the footpaths. Crossing the road here would be very dangerous.
There is no way of seeing, or hearing, rail traffic coming up behind you on either side of the bridge.
Due to the nature of this location it is not best suited to video and audio recordings due to the road noise coming from the A2.
