From the A6 (Garstang Road) north of Preston turn left on to Lightfoot Lane and follow the road until you join the main road (Eastway). Turn left at the junction and you will see the bridge, continue over the bridge and you will see a small parking area on the left.
There is a small parking area next to the bridge where it is safe to park.
Stagecoach run the 4/4A bus which goes down Lightfoot Lane.
No toilets in the area, or any nearby pubs or shops. Nearest ones are on Garstang Road.
Nearest hotel is the
IBIS hotel near the M55 motorway junction near Broughton.
Due to the tree line and hillsides there is not any good angle for light for northbound trains, but early afternoon light is good for trains heading south. Leave plenty of time to get in position for trains heading either way as the road can be very busy and take a while to cross safely. Going away shots are not possible.
Due to the busy path and roads, and heavy trucks leaving a nearby wasteland, the location is not ideal for videos.
