Road directions
From the M66 junction 2:
Take the A58 into Bury. Having gone through two set of traffic lights and two mini-roundabouts you will come to a larger roundabout with a Halfords store on the right - take the first exit left and follow the dual carriageway (Angouleme Way) round. Knowsley Street is the third turning on the left and the location is a hundred meters down the road.

(At Busy Times the following route avoids the town Centre)
Take the A58 into Bury. Follow the road towards Bury town centre and as the bus lane ends you come to a junction with lights (get into the left lane soon as you can). Turn left on to Heywood Street and follow the road straight down and bearing right as it becomes Wellington Road until you reach a mini-roundabout - turn right onto Market Street, at the top you will reach a set of traffic lights facing Bury Interchange. Turn left onto Angouleme Way and left again at the next lights onto Knowsley street and the location is a hundred meters down the road.
Parking
Parking is not always easy at the location, as the day progresses many people use the road to park in and walk into town.
Public transport
Frequent Metrolink Trams from Manchester to Bury Interchange.

From Bury Interchange:
Exit the Interchange as bus traffic does and turn left. At the main road (Angouleme Way), go straight across onto Knowsley street and the location is a hundred meters down the road. - Less than 5 minute walk in all.

From Bury Bolton Street ELR:
Exit the station and turn right towards the town centre bearing right following the road past the bus station. At the main road (Angouleme Way), go straight across onto Knowsley street and the location is a hundred meters down the road. - Less than 10 minute walk in all.
Amenities
Plenty of pubs, chip shops and kebab shops in Bury town center.
Photographic notes
The line runs pretty much east to west so the bridge favours afternoon shots. Also the location is a road bridge so traffic noise might be a problem for videographers. Also the bridge wall is a good 6 feet high. Steps are a must. Trains can also often be heard whistling on departure from Bury. This will give you a minute or two's advanced notice, from this bridge, however, the train will be heading away from you if it has departed from Bury.
