Station car park (or bridges 1/3 mile south if taking pictures there).
Stopping services from Waterloo and Woking.
There is a snackbar on the station and toilets. There are several cafes and restaurants down in Weybridge (10 mins walk) including a supermarket.
Two pubs down Heath Road; The Mitre and the Volunteer. Real ale fans go to the Hop Back Brewery tied
Jolly Farmer - opens
1100-1500, 1800-2300 Food only at lunchtime. This public house can be found on Princes Road, about a 10 minute walk from Station (or grab a cab, all the cabbies know of the pub!) . To walk, leave station, walk down Hanger Hill to Cricket Green and turn right looking out for Yellow Jolly Farmer pub sign on right.
Most parts of the station reveal good picture taking possiblities. My favourite spot is the first bridges 1/3rd of a mile south. Here a quiet road crosses both the Staines and LSWR mainline. The parapets are high on the latter (5'6"). A small step ladder may help here, otherwise the electronic viewfinder on the rear of many digital cameras can be an advantage allowing one place the camera away from ones face.
Long lenses will probably give the best results, look at putting lenses of at least 135mm into your bag if using 35mm.
The bridge immediately above the station also allows one to look north (deep cutting) as well as south overlooking the station. Heathly 'photters' may well consider the Queens Road bridge (Haynes Bridge) about a mile north of the Station. One can cut right past the Jolly Farmer on route for a pint of Summer Lightning!
Low winter light can be a problem due to deep cutting, from end of October the sun sets right along the same axis and the railway line (the line running east to west) - it may be possible to get glint.
