From the south:
Come off the M3 at Jct 11 and follow the signs for St. Cross. At a large roundabout take the B3335 towards St. Cross and Winchester. After 3/4 mile turn left into Mead Road. Follow Mead Road up the hill, and the bridge will be immediately in front of you by a disused level crossing.

From the North:
Come off the M3 at Junction 9, and head onto the A272 which runs south parallel to the M3. Continue following the A272 straight across the next roundabout. Head under the M3 to a roundabout with traffic lights on. At this roundabout, continue straight on into a road called Bull Drove, signposted for St. Cross. Follow this road to it's end, and turn left onto Kingsgate Road. At the end of this road again turn left onto the B3335 St. Cross Road. Follow this road past the first set of traffic lights and immediately after the next pedestrian crossing, turn right into Mead Road. Follow Mead Road up the hill, and the bridge will be immediately in front of you by a disused level crossing.

There is space to leave 1 car off the road against the gates of the old level crossing. There are no 'no parking' signs, although I would not leave the car here unattended in case access is required. Alternatively, there is limited free on street parking running from the junction of Hubert Road up to the Bridge. Check your parking bay carefully though, as some are marked resident permit holders only.

South West Trains run to Winchester station. From here, Stagecoach and Solent Blue Line run regular buses through St Cross.

Sainsburys is within 5 minutes drive (Badger Farm Supermarket), and is clearly signposted from the large roundabout near Junction 11 of the M3. No toilets are available.

Wessex Rail Gen [WRGen]

The light is good at all times of the day, with un-restricted views in both directions along the mainline. Shots can be taken from the bridge or on the stairs leading up to the bridge. Shots can also be taken from either side of the level crossing, although steps may be required for a clearer view.
