Road directions
Near Wantage (on the A338 between Oxford and Newbury):
From the junction in Wantage of the A338 and A417 take the A417 towards Faringdon and after passing though the village of East Challow take the turning on the right to Denchworth. If approaching from Faringdon on the A417 after crossing the railway at Challow take the left turn to Denchworth. Also can be approached from the north off the A338 through the villages of West Hanney and Denchworth.
Parking
Difficult! Very limited parking at the southern end of the approach to the bridge and on verges to the north. Some people park on the bridge itself but this is not advisable due to the speed of traffic and the bend just over the bridge.
Amenities
Some shops in the nearest town of Wantage.
Accommodation
Some available in Wantage.
Photographic notes
Light is good from 09:00 until 17:00 when the sun crosses the line. Tall trees to the west on the north side of the line would cast shadows after this time. Wide open space on straight track suitable for video, only road traffic and occasional military aircraft likely to cause noise.
