Exit the A14 and head into the town. At the first roundabout take the third exit (right turn) and continue up the road. The station is on your left.
The station has a car park.
There are two pubs outside the station and you pass a Tesco's store on the A14 roundabout.
The station would appear to have originally been a four track location, with the platforms located on loops outside the throught lines. The through lines have been removed but the track still follows a loop line. This means that traffic passing though the station will change from head on to a slight side view as it leaves or exits the station, this can be seen in figure 2. Also for west bound trains there is an excellent view of the long straight descent down the grade into the platforms (fig2). The westerly view has a signal box (fig 4) and trains can be seen approaching for at least a mile in both directions.
