Road directions
Parking
The best place to park is in the street at Chalk, and then walk along the public footpath from there. There is a car parking area at Hoo Junction but it is popular with fly tippers so you risk getting a puncture. Both places are about a mile walk from the site.
Public transport
The nearest station is Gravesend, about 2 miles away. There is a footpath and cycle path which runs parallel to the railway line, just head for the riverside and then follow the cycle path signs towards Rochester.
Amenities
Absolutely nothing nearby, so bring anything you need with you.

Photographic notes
The line runs east to west so sunlight should not be a problem at any time of the day when shooting from the south side of the tracks. There is a clear view of the line towards the east, and the view to the west is only obstructed by the platforms of the disused halt. From the north side of the tracks is a bit more tricky with some bushes lining the track. There are some hills to the south which form a pleasant backdrop when the sun is not too bright. A very quiet location, except when the firing range is being used.
