Light is best here for trains heading south towards Uckfield. In the morning this will be from the east side of the bridge and in the afternoon from the west. Looking south from the bridge the line passes through a small wood so shots this way can be shaded. There is a public footpath passing through the trees on the east side of the line which takes you to Grants Lane foot crossing about 300 yards south of the bridge.
