Road directions
From the M74, Junction 3:
Turn right to head east on the A74. After passing under the M73, turn right onto the B758 (first right after the end of the dual-carriageway). Take the first proper road on the right after passing beneath the WCML. This road takes you back over the Main Line before running parallel to it for a way. The next road on the right takes you beneath the station.
Parking
There is a car park near the station.
Public transport
There is a 30 minute service from Glasgow Central High Level, alternately via Queens Park or Pollokshaws, which terminates at Newton. There is also a similar service from Glasgow Central Low-level to Hamilton and Motherwell.
Amenities
There are no facilities around the station.

Photographic notes
As mentioned above, the local trains arrive from the left-hand route from Cathcart and terminate at Newton. These then run forward into a siding to reverse. Hamilton trains operate from the Main Line from Glasgow, crossing over to the station before heading south towards Hamilton. Photos of these trains are best for trains heading from Glasgow, in the morning looking east and in the afternoon looking west towards the sidings and the Hamilton Branch. It would be possible to take photos of trains on the Main Line only with a telephoto lens, and these trains are really best for videoing.
