Four trains an hour from Glasgow Central.
The north end of the middle platforms is my favourite location. If you watch the signals and the points you get advanced notice of any trains coming. You're also facing north here so the suns behind you. Freight heading to and from Ayr tends to be moving at a fair pace so you need to keep an eye on the signals along with a
Timetable to see if there's anything due through. Most passenger trains stop apart from the odd non-stop to Ayr.
