There is definitely space for one or two cars to pull in tight by the hedge, however the lane is very quiet and I have seen 6 or 7 manage to pull clear (just!)
There is a bus running every 90-120 minutes between Kendal, Tebay, Shap and Penrith along the A685, operated by a variety of operators in conjunction with Cumbria County Council. Log onto the

There are no amenities in the immediate area. But Kendal should have some facilities
The line here is almost west to east. Until about 11-11.30 the light is best for northbound trains, though a telephoto lens is best for these. The best view is of southbound trains, and the light for these is best from 11.30 onwards.
