Come off the A14 (from either the west or from the south) and head onto the A141. From the A1 (from the north), take the A14 exit.
There are two routes to this location. On the A141 take the first exit on the first roundabout (after coming off the A14), signed posted 'Business Park', it is actually the B1044, but this isn’t marked. Head north on this road and take the first right turn, signed posted 'Green End'. Continue through the village until you come to a road marked as private. There is plenty of parking here, just ensure you don’t block any access to fields or farms. From here, you must walk along the private road until you reach the bridge. There is a public footpath across the fields, which although is shorter, isn’t very well sign posted, and quite muddy even on dry days.
The other route to this location is to approach the private road from the east. Continue along the A141 for another two roundabouts. Again take the first exit (northwards), heading towards Abbots Ripton. The private road is the first left on this road, and parking is possible in the area. It is a shorter walk from this side.

Although there is plenty of parking at the location (on the bridge), it is unfortunately on a private road, so vehicles must be left at either end of the private road. The Green End side of the road has more space for parking, and is probably more secure. You will not be able to see you parked car from the location.

Huntingdon station is served by a number of trains from King’s Cross station (roughly two an hour). There doesn’t seem to be any buses that serve the location from Huntingdon, so it would be a very long walk to the location.

There are no amenities at the location, but Huntingdon itself is a busy small town, with all the usual facilities on offer.

There are several hotels in the area, with the closest being the Travel inn, on the A14/A1 interchange.

Anglia Gen

This location is on a slight curve, so it’s not directly north / south, which helps with early morning shots. There is some tree cover on the left side of the bridge (looking northward), and the best shots are from the right hand side of the bridge. This location is probably at its best in the morning, especially for south bound trains, where the sun will be on the nose.
The pictures below where taken in late April on the same day. It was quite bright, but the sun was hidden behind a light haze. This burnt off during the time I was there, making the northbound shot from the left side of the bridge impossible. The right side, northbound shot remain viable all the time I was there (08:24 to 09:41). All pictures were taken with a 10D, so remember to take into account the focal length multiplier (1.6x).
