Situated directly on the A496.
There are many car parks in the town.
There is a rail service from Birmingham and Shrewsbury.
Cafes, restaurants and toilets in abundance in Barmouth.
Lots of Bed and Breakfasts, hotels and caravan sites in the area.
The classic shot of the viaduct will require a zoom lens as you are a good 1/2 mile from the closest point. Given the lines north west - south east orientation then the shot will be backlit until mid morning.
There are plans afoot, from Gwynedd Council, to close the 'footpath' section of the bridge. Closing this section of the 150-year-old bridge will result in an 18-mile detour, taking walkers and cyclists on to narrow and busy A roads. This will harm the local leisure industry, tourism, and public health and wellbeing.
It will also preclude some of the close up shots available.
