Road directions
Dudswell can be accessed from the A4251, either from the Tring direction or the Hemel Hempstead/Berkhampsted direction. If coming from the M25, best route is the exit the M25 at junction 20 then the A41(T) north to the Tring station exit, then exit right, under the A41 and then turn left into the A4251. The turning to Cow Roast is the third turning on the left after the A41 junction. Approaching through Berkhampsted is not recommended due to traffic calming.
Parking
There is a small lay-by about 0.5km from the A4251 next to a footpath called the 'Chiltern way' or similar. If that's full, then probably back to the A4251 turning.
Public transport
Best accessed from Tring station, and then walking along the tow path of the Grand Union Canal.
Amenities
There are some services on the A41(T) heading south, which features McDonalds and a petrol station. There is a Waitrose supermarket in Berkhampsted.
Photographic notes
The southbound shots have the sun on the front from around 13:00 BST until 16:00 BST, the northbound shots from 16:00 BST onwards. There are shots on the fast and slow lines at all locations. There is a two way shot to the south of the footbridge which has an unsightly gantry to the north. There is a south bound shot to the north of the footbridge, and a further two way shot nearer to Tring.
Due to the vegetation at the location this location is 'preferable' during the spring and early summer months.
