Road directions
From the A1, junction 15: Turn off the A1 and head east along Harlaxton Road until you reach a round about. Take the forth exit, signposted station, to reach Grantham.
Parking
There is a car park at the station, but tends to be very busy, especially between 8am and 6pm due to the large number of business commuters using the station.
Public transport
The station is well served by rail. NXEC services between London and Leeds call hourly in both directions. All Hull Trains services call, as well as hourly East Midlands Trains services between Liverpool and Norwich. There is also a two-hourly Skegness train which calls here.
Amenities
There is a Pumpkin café and Café Ritazza on Platform 1, as well as various supermarkets, pubs, takeaways and sandwich shops a few minutes walk into Grantham town centre. The station now has lifts to all platforms.
There are not many places on the station that hinder photographers and videographers. The over bridge is covered, with 'misty' Perspex windows, which tend to affect shots taken from the bridge, although some photos do come out OK. At the northern end of all platforms, you get a good view of the mainline as it curves east on a cant. To the south is straight, so there is plenty of time to see what is coming. Express services use platforms 1 and 2. Services from Nottingham use the bay platform 3 to change direction towards Lincoln and Skegness. Several Central Trains services use Platform 4. A mixture of freight traffic passes through on the fast lines.
