Parking is provided where the public foot crossing crosses the mainline and yard.
From Port Talbot station the easiest method is to get a cab to 'Margam Knuckle Yard foot crossing'. If you like a good walk tho you can turn down the A48 Talbot/Commercial Road and walk to the junction with the M4 then down the access road to the location.
Not near Margam yard itself, but opposite Port Talbot station is a nice pub, which serves good food. Toilets are available at the pub and at Port Talbot station, for those who wish to stay at the yard, and packed lunch is recommended to be taken.
Very easy to see and photograph everything stabling, entering and exiting the yard, and it is also easy to photograph the Corus shunters at the Corus factory (when they are shunting, which they do on a regular basis)
