Road directions
Best follow Oxford ring road to the West of City, take A420 (Botley Rd, towards city centre) follow signs to rail station.
Parking
Parking is difficult as most spaces are for residents. Better arrive by train or bus (Oxford bus station is also only 5-10min away).
Public transport
Apart from train services, Oxford is served by a every 10min bus service from/to London and National Express in various directions. Follow signs to trains station. Pass the station main forecourt area on main road to go under railway bridge, a youth hostel is the next building on the right. Follow that street further on.
Amenities
Oxford city centre is about 5-10min walk.
Accommodation
There is a YHA hostel is on the same road, but not inexpensive. A backpacker's hostel is in the city centre about 10min walk.
Photographic notes
First the drawback: You have to be quite tall as there is a fence. But you can take photos through the fence perhaps or stand on the sideway which is a bit higher. Steps may also help.
You can see trains entering and leaving Oxford station or passing it in both directions. A bit further down the road is a turning point for local trains waiting for the next shift.
