Leave the M4 at Junction 33 and follow signs for Barry Island Pleasure Beach. Barry Town station is along this route.
Barry Town is not a Park and Ride station. There is 2 possibilities:
1) Drive to Barry Town station and leave your car in the Park And Ride area.
2) Leave you car in one of the residential streets
There is a service every 15 minutes each way.
The only thing on the station is a small shelter. There is a newsagents about 10 minutes away up on the hill. There is also a Morrisions Superstore about 15 minutes walk away.
There is a few Bed and Breakfasts at Barry Island, a 10 minute train journey away.
The light comes across from the Bristol Channel in the morning, which is only good for getting photos of trains travelling towards Cardiff. For the rest of the day, it is directly behind you. Swansea-bound trains are only good caught from the Cardiff end of the platform- They travel around a curve. You can also get some good photos from the Bridgend end of the platform.
There is a road parallel to the station that runs to the docks. It can get busy, and therefore noisy, during peak times.
