Turn off the A19 at the Yarm and Crathorne junction. Continue straight on along the slip road till you reach the road junction. Turn Left onto the A67. Continue along the A67 till you reach a roundabout. There should be a sign saying Yarm Station. If not turn Left (1st exit). Then continue along Green Lane until you reach a Bridge. Cross the bridge and take the 1st Left after the bridge. Then you are in the station Car park.
The station has a car park.
There is a TransPennine Express service every hour in both directions. The only bus services to the station itself are the 7A and 517 which run late evenings and Sundays. Service 7 however stops in Davenport road. Get off just after The Layfield Arms pub. Then walk towards the pub and turn Right at the roundabout. Then at the end of that road turn Left onto green lane and walk towards the bridge and the station is just before and just after the bridge.
There is a Sommerfield, a Newsagents and a Fish and Chip shop nearby, opposite Conyers School field on the main road into Yarm. There is also a pub called The Layfield Arms.
There is a Bed and Breakfast next to the train station, on the platform 1 side.
The station is usually in shade as it is sheltered by grass banks on either side , woodland in the York direction and a bridge in the Middlesbrough direction.
