Road directions
From the A92, come off at the Lochgelly turn off, and follow signs for 'Lochore Meadows Country park'. You'll then come to a roundabout with 'Weathermac' in front of you. Turn left and follow the road to the Lochgelly centre. At the mini roundabout, turn right, and follow the road down. The station will soon come into view, and the car park is on the right.
Parking
There is a small station car park, but if this is full, park in nearby streets, though park courteously. An alternative is to park in the town centre and get the bus down to the station.
Public transport
The station is served by trains of First Scotrail whilst bus services are provided by Stagecoach Fife. The service numbers that serve the station are 19, 20A, 30 and 34/A.
Important: Do not board the Lochgelly town service (numbered 20), as this doesn't serve the station. It's easy to get it and the 20A mixed up.
Amenities
The only facility is a small corner shop a little bit up the hill. All other facilities are in the town centre. The nearest toilets are in the Lochgelly Centre (free admission), and there is a cafe here, and on the corner of Auchterderran Road, whilst a co-op supermarket is on Bank Street. There are no petrol stations in Lochgelly. The nearest petrol station is in Cowdenbeath, and the northern end of the High Street.
The view in winter is clear, as there are no leaves on the trees. However, in the summer, that may not be the case, with the extra vegetation possibly making views restricted. The station is located on the apex of a bend, and the views along the track aren't that long. In addition, the road below is quite busy, and traffic noise will be picked up on videos. Do not video from the staircase of the Cardenden bound platform, as the stairs are the only access to and from this platform.
