Road directions
From the M62, Junction 1:
Follow the A653 south to the 4th roundabout, there take the 2nd exit (right turn) and continue into Morley where the station will be signposted.
Parking
Suggest Morley Station Car Park.
Valley Road has a number of small industrial units along the road, as well as a tanker / petroleum depot, because of this I would not recommend parking there.
Public transport
Morley Station is served by a half hourly service between Leeds and Hudderfield operated by Northern. I understand there is are several bus routes which links Morley with Leeds.
Walk up the road (Valley Road) and keep following the road around which passes over the top of Morley Tunnel this was bring you into a small industrial estate with a Petroleum Depot (beware of lorries). Before you reach the bottom of the road which is about 5 minutes walk from the car park, on the right hand side is a lock vehicular access gate. Here a footpath commences which the first part of the footpath skirts the outer parameter of an industrial unit, just follow the footpath round which leads to the railway.
Amenities
No toilets in the area. Several food outlets in Morley Town Centre which is a short walk from the station (about 8 minutes walk).
Railway Gen Group
Yorkshire Rail
Photographic notes
As the line is in effect on a South-West / North-East Axis very good photographic location for most of the day. as the path runs adjacent to the railway for about a mile there are endless opportunities for photographs. The line is on a slight curve which is ideal for short trains like DMUs. The land on also an a hill giving plenty of opportunities to vary shots.
