From the M6, Junction 41:
Head for the B5305 eastwards. At the first roundabout take the A6 northwards exit and head north. After several miles the road turns into a small bit of dual carriage way (at Old Town). There is a turning here to the right, follow this road and take the first public road to the right. Follow this narrow road south until you come to a crossroads (private roads to the left and the right), and the parking area is just after the turning to the left.

Parking is available on the grass verge at the start of the farm entrance. Make sure you do not block both the narrow road or the entrance to the farm.
Once parked, walk down the drive to the farm. There are a variety of shots available along the drive but all of a pretty similar nature.

The nearest railway station on the S&C is Armathwaite. The location would be a good twenty minute walk from the station.

There are no amenities available at the location. But the village of Armathwaite has several shops and public houses.

Settle Carlisle

There is only one shot of worth here, from along the drive to the farm of southbound trains. There is a shot on the bridge over the line for northbound trains should something interesting turn up.
