New Mobile Site
We have just launched a new mobile version of this site - m.trainspots. This page will use your smart device's GPS to loctate you and guide you to locations that are close to your present location.
Location notes
Located in West Yorkshire, this location is located next to Saltaire world heritage site, within the car park. Also within a 5 minute walk to the station at Saltaire on the line between Shipley and Skipton.
Railway type and traffic
Mostly 333s travelling between Leeds/Bradford and Skipton as well as 158s on the Carlisle services.
The occasional freight train to Rylestone passes here, operated by GBRF. There are occasional charters passing, usually heading to the the Settle & Carlisle line.
Environment
The shot is available in the car park of the world heritage site, looking over the fence. Fairly busy with cars but there is little noise with them travelling at low speed. There will be little light during the night but daytime hours are safe with plenty of light available throughout the day.

Photographic notes
The light is good for the majority of the day until sunset where its difficult to gain light for the image. I would not use a tripod for this area as it may obstruct cars. The best shot is looking towards Leeds in the east with the photo not really available to the west towards Skipton.
