New Mobile Site
We have just launched a new mobile version of this site - m.trainspots. This page will use your smart device's GPS to loctate you and guide you to locations that are close to your present location.
Location notes
Leanachan is located between Spean Bridge and Fort William on the West Highland Line.
Railway type and traffic
Mostly Scotrail class 156 DMUs on passenger workings with class 67s on the sleeper traffic.
Freight is a daily enterprise working, mostly operated by a single DB Schenker 66s.
Environment
A small hill overlooking the east side of the line with open fields to the west and a pine forest to the east.
Be aware of midges in the summer months.
Road directions
The location is directly off the A82 around 8 miles from Fort William in the Spean Bridge Direction.

Parking
There is very limited parking with only one or two cars fitting in the barn gate. Make sure you do not block the access.
Public transport
There is a limited service from Fort William with the number 41 bus.

Amenities
There is nothing in the immediate vicinity, but Spean Bridge is 2 miles away with a shop, pub and some toilets.
Accommodation
There are there are numerous hotels and B&Bs in Fort William.
