A new mobile site has been ceated. Whilst this page will remain you may find
Trainspots mobile better suited to a smart phone.
Plenty of parking on both sides of the crossing, even if Network Rail vans in attendance.
Your car will be in sight at all times.
Stagecoach service 43 operates hourly between 10:00 and 14:00 from Tewksbury to Bishops Cleeve via Stoke orchard and Tredington. From either it would then be a 25-30 minute walk to the level crossing. Tewksbury is served every 15 minutes from Cheltenham by Stagecoach services 41/42 and Bishops Cleeve evry 10 minutes by Stagecoach service 'D'.
There are none close by, but there is a large garage and a Little Chef on the M5 at junction 9.
There is lots of accommodation in Tewkesbury or Cheltenham to suit all budgets.
Line runs basically north-south on a gentle curve.
Two good shots for north bound trains, one for southbound, but a lot of room for experimentation.
Generally quiet, but a little exposed so could be some wind noise on video footage.
March 2010 Update:
Recent bank works has cleared all the vegitation from the southern side of the crossing. Althought currently a building site the location should be veg free for a few years after the completion of these works. There is however a large radio mast and associated cabin on the western side of the line that needs to be worked around wide angle shots.
