Follow main road from Selby taking a left at the power station from where Hensall is sign posted.
Follow the road out of Hensall until you see the mainline and a bridge. Go under it and turn left before the bridge and you will see the embankment park in the lay-by next to it.
You will find an embankment to your left climb up here to get a perfect view of all the main line traffic.
There are plenty of spaces to leave your car at the location itself which has very easy access for cars.
Hensall can be reached by bus and the spot is about a ten minute walk from the bus stop.
The location is a fair distance from any toilets. In Hensall village there are two pubs that do serve meals, The Railway Arms and La Anchor, an Italian themed pub. The town of Snaith is also nearby.
Gowdall and is only a few miles from this location and has a cafe serving all day meals open most weekdays as well as a few pubs which serve all day.
The closest town to this location is Selby, Hensall village is easy to find once at Selby or Pontefract as it is sign posted.
The line has a bend and then a level flat surface with no trees of brush to get in the way of photographs a perfect location for photography and videos.
To get the best view you can walk to the top of an embankment which over looks the quarry and the village as well as allowing you to see the Drax line and mainline.
