Road directions
From the M27, Junction 2:
Take the A326. Pass straight over 4 roundabouts. Straight after the 4th, there is a slip road, take it and head for the traffic light and turn right onto the A35. Follow it passing through Ashurst and Lyndurst, make sure to keep left when passing through Lyndhurst and join the A337. The station is just off the level crossing in Brockenhurst.
Parking
There is car parking on both side of the station but the parking on the Platform 4 side is usually quieter. You are charged for parking.
Public transport
Train is the best way, direct trains from Waterloo, Southampton, Basingstoke, Reading, Manchester, Birmingham, Bournemouth and Weymouth.
Amenities
There are toilets on the station, plus a small cafe. The main town centre is outside the station and to the left, and a pub is just outside the station. There is a chippy on the main road.
Accommodation
There is a hotel around half a mile away toward Southampton.
Railway Gen Group
Wessex Rail Gen [WRGen]
Photographic notes
The light is generally good throughout the day, but obviously tends to favour shots to the east or west as the sun moves around during the day. No problems with low sun as both ways is fairly clear but the station awnings cause large shadows.
