The station is accessible from the A47. In fact, when travelling from the Norwich direction, you will find yourself running parallel with the railway for almost the whole distance between Acle and Great Yarmouth!
You can leave your car in the designated parking spaces. There is a charge for this which at the time of writing is around the £3 mark depending upon whether you are paying during peak or off peak. Prices being just under £3 for off peak parking and just over £3 for peak.
Local train services from Norwich.
Toilets and a waiting area are provided on the station concourse, which is clearly designed for a far larger amount of customers than the station actually gets. The best thing to do is to walk to the seafront and buy some chips from the many various shops and stands which offer this, and have a real British 'fish and chips by the sea' type meal. If you are planning on spending the whole day on the station, however, bring a packed lunch!
Asda is also opposite the station.
There are numerous hotels and guest houses located around the Great Yarmouth area, for the holiday-makers and tourists who regularly visit the area. Why not stop at
Lingwood a few stations down the line, quite literally at the station!
The lighting at the station is good at most times of the day. The station is in a very flat and open area, therefore there are no real obstructions to low lighting. You will find that trains mainly depart from platform 2 anyway, which is ideal for you if you stand on platform 3/4.
