From the A1(M)
At the Washington Service Area join the A194(M) (Stay in the right hand lane) and follow the signs to the Tyne Tunnel. At the Testos roundabout take the second exit, singed for Sunderland North, on to the A184. East Bouldon is two miles along this road.

Plenty of Metro's and Busses to East Boldon, the crossing is 10/15 minutes walk (about a mile) from there.

There are shops and a pub at East Boldon.

The area is fairly flat and trains can be heard approaching.
The line is quite straight, so trains can be seen from quite a distance.
