Take the A66 to Appleby and follow signs for Long Marton. Upon passing a red phone box in the village of Long Marton the pub, The Masons Arms which should be on your left, go up the hill in front of you to a small wooden play park, activity area. This is as far as you can take the car and park, so park here and continue on foot. Follow the road round to the left and follow the footpath round the side of the farm. Follow this path for about 1/4mile, you will pass a path up to a bridge on your right. After this follow the field edges to the location.
Cars can be left just about anywhere. Common sense rules apply i.e. No leaving it across a driveway or somewhere dangerous!!
No public transport nearby. Nearest mainline station Appleby. Nearest bus in Appleby.
Nothing in the immediate area.
None in the immediate area.
Light is good most of the day after about 10:00 for southbound trains and similar for northbound although photos can only be taken from the bridge nearby easily for north bound workings.
Sun is not normally a problem due to the open nature of the Cumbrian landscape.
