From the M8:
Take the exit for Edinburgh Airport. At the roundabout (Newbridge) take the 2nd exit (A89 - Broxburn) stay on this road , the viaduct is on your left about 3/4 of a mile farther on.

There is a lay-by on the right hand side, opposite the viaduct.

There are a number of buses (First Edinburgh (Not Lothian)) from Haymarket station that go to Newbridge (journey time approx 30 mins).

There is a service station at roundabout, with toilets.

The usual train of interest here is the Caledonian sleeper. In the height of summer it is possible to photograph this train at about 05:05.
