Road directions
From the A90 (heading towards the Forth Bridge): Come off at the 2nd junction (B924 - South Queensferry) Continue along this road, take a left turn (signposted Dalmeny) and continue into the village , carry on through the village, the road takes a sharp turn to the left, at this point you want to carry on straight ahead onto the railway over bridge, which is a dead end road.

Public transport
Turn right outside station and under the railway, continue for about 100 meters until you reach an over bridge. At the far end of this bridge go down onto the pathway below. Walk along this path, in the direction of Edinburgh, until you pass under the next bridge (half mile). From here there is a path, on the left, back up onto the bridge. If you had walked for approx half mile in opposite direction, you would end up under the Forth bridge, at South Queensferry!
Amenities
There are some local shops with pubs and a supermarket etc, toilets can be found a short drive away in South Queensferry.
Good views in both the north and south directions. The line is a northbound climb into the station. Pictures from the pathway location (figs 5-8) can be a little awkward at times , due to the sun being 'wrong side of the line' for much of the day.
