Various parking spaces available all round the pedestrian precinct and there is also a station car park.
Carpenders Park is situated between Watford Junction and Harrow & Wealdstone on the Silverlink Metro service from Watford to Euston. Regular 20 minute interval service in both directions.
Coming out of the station and walking across the car park will lead you to a petrol station with a small shop or continue across the main road to reach the shopping area where there is a convenience store etc.
The best position to be in is at the southern end of the platform in line with a catenary mast (see pictures below which were taken from that position). First thing in the morning is a definite do not bother situtation for northbound trains as the sun will be directly behind them. Southbound trains are never backlit during the day, but after about 18:30, the sun tends to get a bit too far round. After 17:00 is best for northbound trains. It is really about 16-17:00 that the sun moves from being perfect for southbound to being perfect for northbound trains. Good for videos except if panning round as a catenary mast is very likely to get in the way. Be aware of the potential to be bowled by Class 313s/508s pulling out of the southbound platform as they take time to pass and will of course be right in the way.
In the current Summer 2004 timetable, southbound Silverlink trains are due at 11, 31 and 51 minutes past each hour.
