From the M53, Junction 1:(use the Wallesey Tunnel from Liverpool)
Take the A554 north. At the last roundabout on the Esplanade, U-turn and take the first road on the left heading straight inland (Atherton Street). The station is on the right up this road.

There is parking on roads near the station.

There are frequent bus services to New Brighton from Birkenhead and other parts of the Wirral.

Photos can be taken from the buffers of trains arriving/leaving and due to the curvature of the station, good photos can be taken of trains in the platform.
Trains leave from either platform and sometimes there is a standby set stabled here. There is a road bridge west of the station but the parapets are very high and so a step-ladder would be needed to get photos of trains leaving the station. The sun would be best particularly late afternoon for trains in the left-hand platform.
