Road directions
Dalton-in-Furness is just off the main A590 road from Barrow to Ulverston, Kendal and the M6 junction 36. From the east, you pass along the main street and take the next major road on the left, just before the road you are on bends right. This road climbs, passing a hotel on the left and a garage on the right. The bridge is on a left hand bend.
Parking
You will need to park your car on the road a short way from the bridge, nearer the garage.
Public transport
Stagecoach run regular buses between Barrow, Dalton and Ulverston (Services 6/6A every 15 minutes) and onto Kendal (Service X35 every hour). The majority of trains on the line stop at Dalton. Exit the station and turn left down into the village. Turn left along the main street, past the end of the shops and turn left up the road towards the bridge.
Amenities
There are no amenities at the bridge, however there are a range of shops and pubs in the town.

Photographic notes
The light here is best for trains heading out the tunnel towards Barrow, particularly in the afternoon. An interesting shot however can be taken looking west to the junction due to the interesting Furness Railway Signal box. There is also a gate on the road down nearer trackside which can give closer views of trains emerging from the tunnel.
