Wrexham is just off the A483 which links Chester in the north to the A5 at Chirk. The station is located just off the A541 on the western side of the Town Centre.
There is a station car park.
There is about an hourly train service from Chester and Shrewsbury and an hourly service from Liverpool, changing at Bidston. There are frequent bus services from Chester, Llangollen and Oswestry.
The town centre is a five minute walk away. There is a Wetherspoons pub just as you enter the centre.
The road bridge outside the station gives the best vantage point for trains entering from the south, also giving a view of the station buildings. As the line runs roughly north-south, the best location is probably at the end of the platforms, especially in the afternoon for south-bound trains. The Bidston to Wrexham Central line runs from a separate platform on the west side of the station.
