The station is located on the A82 west of Glasgow City Centre. The railway crosses the road by a girder bridge, the station is on the right.
The A82 is a busy dual-carriageway but there should be places to park on surrounding streets.
There is a regular train service from both Glasgow Queen Street and Glasgow Central. All Milngavie trains call at Anniesland, if catching a train to Dalmuir, Dumbarton or Helensburgh make sure the train is routed via Singer. If the first train is going via Yoker, catch this to Partick or Hyndland and change.
There is a Wetherspoons Pub opposite the station on the main road, and a few shops and a chip shop nearby.
The light here is best for trains heading towards Glasgow. In the morning, this will be from the Glasgow-bound platform and in the afternoon from the other. When the Maryhill service is extended to Anniesland, photos of units on this will probably be best in the afternoon. The line north of the station is lined with trees so gives quite a good backdrop for the morning shot. The girder bridge at the southern end of the platform is of interest but usually looking into the sun.
