The vantage point is from the street so you can easily park your car – There may be parking restrictions at times.
From Bridge Street subway station turn left along Bridge Street (with the WCML up on your right). Cross over Bridge Street and turn right under the railway line on Cook Street, then left onto Salkeld Street.
It's just over 1km from Glasgow Central, so it is possible to walk. Otherwise there should be buses from the city centre out to Eglinton Street.
It is a short walk to Glasgow City center.
You are right next to the railway here at track level. Incoming services are usually slowing down so won't be travelling too fast, but departures from Glasgow Central will be doing about 30~40mph by this point. There is OHLE about, but it stretches right across the line so if you can get shots between the masts quite easily. Mid-afternoon gives good shots of departures from Glasgow Central as the sun is right behind you - arrivals are slightly harder to photo, but not impossible.
One of the nice things about this location is that the street is sloping upwards as you walk away from the station, which means there are a number of different aspects, from track level up to roof level.
