Road directions
From the M25, Junction 5:
Take the Tonbridge turning towards the A21. At the end of the motorway take the A25 towards Sevenoaks and Borough Green. Follow the A25 for about 2 miles, before turning left up the A225 towards Dartford. From the A225 Sevenoaks to Dartford road, now heading north out of Sevenoaks: Take the first turn after crossing the M26 and then follow the cul-de-sac until the end.
A footpath leads from here to the bridge which is about 500m away.
Parking
A quiet residential cul-de-sac in a very well to do area.
Public transport
From Otford Station:
Head for the foot crossing at the bottom of the car park (London platform side). Turn right and head away from the railway without crossing it. After emerging into the residential street, take the second left. At the end of this cul-de-sac is a footpath which passes through one small field, bears left under the railway and then right over the motorway. The bridge is about 500m further on. Total distance approx 1mile. These fields can become difficult to use if the weather has been wet.
Amenities
There are no facilities at this rural location. Otford town centre only has a pub - there are no snack shops here!
Railway Gen Group
South East Gen
Photographic notes
The line is fairly clear from shadows, especially in the up direction. There are three tracks - up, down and up loop for trains to recess. The line runs east to west so up trains are better by afternoon, down by morning. There is no meshing / caging at this location and the parpaet is low. There is moderate background noise from the M26.
