Take the A513 from Tamworth and head north. When you go under the national grid electricity wires, turn right towards Wigginton. When in the village turn left and head north. You will cross over one railway bridge and just after this, on the left, is the turning to the locations bridge.
You can park on the bridge, ensuring you leave space for farm vehicles to pass. Otherwise there are spaces roadside on Portway Lane.
Services 787/804 operated by Acorn Coaches operate circular services from Tamworth to Portway and Elford. They run approximately every 60-90 minutes although the last journey to serve portway is currently leaves there at 1343 back to Tamworth.

The primary shot is southbound, with the need to duck under the electricity wires which cross the line, this is a minor inconvenience for a good shot! To do this you will require a lens of around 120mm (85mm dig)
Its basically an afternoon shot as the sun will be round to the west. The 3/4 shot in the morning would leave you little scope, if any, for composition. It is a straight, head on, shot. The northbound shot is fair but you get little notice of trains approaching as there is a bridge about 300m to the south.
