Head for the junction of the Inner Ring Road A594 and Welford Road A5199. Location is about 100m south of this junction.
Nearby Morrisons Supermarket on the former cattle market site has a 2 hour parking restriction. The bridge is to the east of the supermarket and is accessible via a flight of steps leading directly from the car park to Welford Road.
Any bus taking the Welford Road from the City Centre.
Nearby Morrisons superstore has toilets and offers a wide selection of food and drinks plus a restaurant.
Due to the large embankment sides and closed in nature of the location this is best for southbound shots during the middle part of the day when the sun is to the south. Early mornings or dull days will give results of the south facing shot, but there is little warning of approaching trains. For the shot of northbound trains you will have to walk off the pedestrian bridge and cross Welford Road. Then to see over the bridge parapet you will need steps as the sides are about 7 foot high and about 2 foot wide.
