Take the main A1 to Haddington village. Turn left (if travelling East ) or right (if traveling West) onto the A6137 marked 'Aberlady'. At the roundabout just in front of the ECML turn left onto the B1377 marked 'Spittal' and choose your spot.
Park on the grass verge; there is little local traffic and there will be no obstruction.
The line is on an east - west axis and the light is good for most of the day.
The photography is best for northbound trains but if panning shots are required then both east- and west-bound trains are phottable.
