Road directions
The A35 from Poole, you come to the Kingston Maurward Roundabout, proceed along the Dorchester bypass to Tesco and Dorchester Football ground, turn right which is the third exit, up to the traffic lights, straight across and station is the first right past the police station.
Parking
There is a 'pay and display' car park within the Station area.
Public transport
Bus services travel to the station and taxis are always available.
Amenities
The Station is situated within walking distance from Dorchester Town Centre. There is a Market on Wednesday mornings, which is just over the road from the Station.
Accommodation
There are plenty of hotels and bed and breakfasts in the area, it is advisable to book in advance. Contact local Tourist Information Centre for more information.
The place is a good area for photographers when it isn’t busy in the station. Standing at the south end of platform 1 to photography a train heading down to Weymouth. If you wanted to see a train heading north to London Waterloo you should really stand on platform 1 facing north.
